The ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ University Distinguished Staff Award recognizes staff members who demonstrate exceptional dedication, leadership, and service to the university. This annual honor celebrates individuals who consistently exceed expectations and make a meaningful, lasting impact on their department, colleagues, and the broader campus community.
All full-time staff members who have been continuously employed for at least five years are eligible for nomination, with the exception of individuals who report directly to the President. Previous recipients may be nominated again after a three-year interval.
Distinguished Staff Award nominees are evaluated anonymously using a scoring matrix that reflects their performance, initiative, relationships, and contributions. Recipient(s) are formally recognized at the annual Staff Awards Ceremony. Nominations are due by March 31.

Performance and Initiative: The nominee consistently delivers high-quality work and demonstrates a strong commitment to the university. They take initiative beyond their required responsibilities, showing resourcefulness and dedication to collaboration and teamwork. Their personal investment often involves making sacrifices or going above and beyond what is required.
Positive Attitude and Relationships: The nominee fosters a positive work environment and supports their colleagues. They contribute to a culture of respect, compassion, and inclusion, enhancing morale and demonstrating fairness in a diverse workplace. They interact sensitively and effectively with individuals from all races and cultures.
Outstanding Contributions and Accomplishments: The nominee has made significant contributions to their department or the university as a whole. These achievements have had a meaningful and lasting impact on students, faculty, staff, or the community.
